Insteel Wire Products – PA

A Commitment to Quality

Insteel Wire Products has a long history of growth in the concrete construction industry that started in 1953. Serving the nation as a steel wire manufacturer, its line of products range from engineered structural mesh, to concrete pipe and welded wire reinforcement. Insteel is committed to providing the highest quality products with prompt and reliable delivery for commercial concrete applications.

As Insteel’s mission is to become the nation’s supplier of choice for steel wire reinforcing products, they continuously look for ways to minimize costs and help them to operate as a low cost producer. For most businesses with long operating hours, lighting is the number one factor for high energy consumption. Throughout the 90,000 square foot plant, the light emitted from the pre-existing 1000w metal halides and their 8 lamp T5 fixtures was lost before it could reach the work plane. With such low lighting levels, safety became a concern for the employees working with industrial machinery.

Brilliant Service

As Big Shine Energy approached Insteel, a complete photometric layout pinpointed a solution on how to curb the cost of energy while increasing foot-candles with the 200W Satellite HD.

Beyond the capacity of the Satellite HD, what impressed Insteel the most was the level of service that backed up the lights. Having an urgency to finish their project, over 100 high bays at a height of 50ft were installed in just one day allowing them to reap the benefits of their LEDs right away. Now they can continue to focus on reaching their goal while saving $40,000 a year and 328,856 kWh.
